In October 2009, Matascik released her first solo guitar CD, At the End of the Day, a collection of guitar compositions that celebrate classical, contemporary folk, Appalachian, jazz and Celtic styles. In October 2011, she released her second solo guitar CD, Spirit Wood, which features a “classical/pop fusion” style of music. Digital downloads of Matascik’s music can be found on iTunes and Amazon.

Composed of guitarist Meng Su and Yameng Wang, the Beijing Guitar Duo has performed throughout Europe, Asia, and North America. This past season took them to countries such as Germany, Russia, Spain, Portugal, Denmark, Poland, China, Panama, and the United States. The duo has toured extensively with their mentor Manuel Barrueco, appearing in such countries as Germany, Finland, Spain, Russia, as well as the United States.

Program includes Danny Boy, Freddie Brabson on the Mighty Wurlizter Organ; and The Gate of Kiev, SCO Brass Ensemble. Brown bag lunches consisting of a sandwich, chips, and a dessert may be purchased in the lobby for $5.00 while supplies last. 7:00 p.m. Orchestra at Maryville College Fall Concert
The Orchestra at Maryville College, under the direction of Dr. Eric Simpson, will present “Mozart Soloists." The concert will feature three soloists: Shelby Shankland, instructor of flute at MC; Meredith Simpson, instructor of horn at MC; and Haylee Wilson ’21, soprano and music education major at MC. The program will include “Andante in C Major for Flute and Orchestra, K. 315” by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart; “Ach ich fuhl’s” from The Magic Flute by Mozart; “Horn Concerto #4 in E flat Major, K. 495” by Mozart; “Overture to ‘Silvana,’ J. 87” by Carl Maria von Weber; Chorale Prelude on “Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme” by Johann Sebastian Bach; and “Symphony in D Major” by Giovanni Battista Sammartini.

Maryville College senior Leeanna Beeler ’19 will present her senior recital. The program will include the following selections: "Vaghissima sembianza" by Stefano Donaudy, "Deh vieni non tardar" and "Batti, batti" by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, "Benedictus" by Camille Saint-Saëns, "Ich liebe dich" by Ludwig van Beethoven, "O, sleep why dost thou leave me?" by George Handel, "Hallelujah" composed by Leonard Cohen and arr. by Andrew Kosky, "Sleep Song" by The Secret Garden, and "Ave Maria" by Amanda Ghost, Ian Dench and Makeba Riddick (performed by Beyoncé). 6:00 p.m. Maryville College Invitational Choir Festival at Maryville College | Concert
The Maryville College Concert Choir will host the annual Maryville College Invitational Choir Festival, which will include choirs from area high schools and colleges. The festival will serve to increase awareness about Good Neighbors of Blount County. The mission of Good Neighbors is to help lift Blount County neighbors out of a temporary crisis and to provide resources to maintain and/or increase their ability to cope with the challenges of everyday life. The organization seeks do this in an atmosphere of love and respect, building partnerships and by advocating for social justice within Blount County. Good Neighbors is funded by local area churches, individuals, BCEAC, United Way and other civic groups. Representing Good Neighbors and serving as guest speaker at the concert will be the executive director, Rev. Lisa R. Blackwood. Donations for Good Neighbors of Blount County are greatly appreciated. In addition to the College’s Concert Choir and vocal ensemble Off Kilter, participants include choirs from Heritage High School, Powell High School, William Blount High School, Alcoa High School, Maryville High School and Pellissippi State Community College.

To follow, contemporary composer Jessie Montgomery’s “Records from a Vanishing City,” a piece inspired by the composer’s experiences growing up in New York City’s Lower East Side. Internationally renowned pianist Natasha Paremski performs Edvard Grieg’s beloved Piano Concerto in A, which contains a wealth of Norwegian folk music influences.

6:00pm Alive After Five with The BlairXperience LINK
Born and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee, Larry Blair’s vocal prowess ranges from velvety and sultry, to raw and soulful, and his stage presence is off the charts. He started his musical career as one of the lead vocalists in a group he and his brothers formed, called “The Blair Brothers”, becoming well known in many local circuits. He later formed a solo project which evolved into the current BlairXperience which has a range of music that is endless, from Pop, Gospel, R&B, Blues, and Soul. All tickets are sold at the door beginning at 4:45 pm.
