It's the first concert list of the semester! Get those concert reports done sooner rather than later. This is a sampling of upcoming events in Knoxville, Maryville, and Oak Ridge. This Masterworks experience led by Music Director Aram Demirjian explores the ideas of a “New World,” from American composer Rachel Grimes to the Czech influence of Antonín Dvořák. Korngold’s “Violin Concerto” features renowned violinist Tessa Lark.

7:00 pm Knoxville Guitar Society presents Sojourner McClure (LINK)
Lawrence Long Award Winner Sojourner McClure is pursuing a degree in guitar performance at the Peabody Conservatory of Music of Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD, where he studies under the renowned guitarist Julian Gray. Sojourner became interested in guitar at age seven, winning eight awards between 13 and 16, with induction into the National Thumbpickers Hall of Fame at 15. Serenade for Guitar, his latest CD, features compositions by Lawrence Long.
